Local SEO London

Local SEO for London Businesses That Want More of the Right Customers

(…even if your competitors already seem to be dominating Google!)

Drive rankings, traffic, and leads to your service business with local SEO in London focused on the results you care about.

  • No “1 blog post per week” nonsense.
  • No focusing on vanity metrics that don’t generate revenue.
  • No going dark for all but 1 day every month.

Just strategy-driven local SEO for London service-area businesses, measured with the only KPI that matters: increasing the money you make.

Capture existing demand

Your customers may already be searching. They just aren’t finding you.

Every time a customer searches for what you do and you aren’t the answer, that’s an enquiry you’re missing out on.

Most business owners think that, to keep their lead engine running, they need as much website traffic as possible.

This is a mistake.

If you’re paying for clicks from absolutely anyone, you’ll find some customers. But you’ll also find a lot of…

  • tyre kickers
  • people just browsing
  • people outside your service area
  • bargain hunters who were never going to become a good customer

Not worth the customer acquisition cost. So what to do instead?

Focus on appearing for customers who already want what you sell.

London is huge. There may be thousands of potential leads making high-intent searches for exactly what you offer every day.

Each time your competitors show up in these searches, that’s a lead going to someone else instead of you.

But with great Google Maps visibility and Local Pack rankings for the right searches, you can be the local business that shows up for these high-intent searches.

Impressions don’t earn you money.

Search engine rankings don’t earn you money.

Viral social media content doesn’t earn you money.

Paying customers earn you money.

And that’s what this program is optimised for.

Found → trusted → chosen

Local SEO doesn’t just get you ranking. It makes you easier to choose.

When you appear in local search results for queries like:

  • physiotherapist near me
  • emergency plumber London
  • private dentist in Shoreditch
  • dog walker in Lambeth

…you’re not just getting more website traffic. You’re getting traffic with local intent which is much likelier to turn into enquiries. Enquiries which are likelier to turn into money and growth for your business.

It gets better.

When search engines (and, increasingly as of 2026, AI systems) trust your business enough to recommend you, customers will share some of that trust, too.

Found

Appear for relevant searches which customers make shortly before they would book your service.

Trusted

Give Google, AI systems and customers consistent evidence to understand and believe the business.

Chosen

Turn the visibility into enquiries, calls and bookings.

Great local SEO services aren’t just about getting you in front of customers. They’re about turning you into the obvious choice for people who already need your service.

Local means local

Show up when nearby customers are already looking for what you’re selling

London is not a single market.

Someone searching for a roofer in Islington isn’t necessarily interested in a roofer in Wimbledon.

Google doesn’t treat a service-area massage therapist who covers most of London the same way it treats a clinic which customers physically attend.

And a cosmetic dentist situated in Marylebone might attract commuters, whereas a general dentist based in Croydon may be better off trying to find patients who live nearby.

That’s why “rank in London” is not a sensible strategy.

We’ll work out which parts of London actually matter to your business, where your best customers are searching and where you have realistic opportunities to compete.

You shouldn’t be trying to rank everywhere in London…

You should be showing up where the right customers are looking!

Build visible evidence

Give Google, ChatGPT and customers reasons to believe you

If you haven’t given anyone a reason to trust you, search engines and AI search systems will ignore you.

And even the traffic you do get will just be harder to convert. That’s why we won’t stop at optimising your website, your landing pages and your Google Business Profile.

We’ll also be building the trust signals which make you the obvious choice over your competitors.

Your reviews

Not just in the way of “get lots of online reviews”, but we’ll build the visible evidence that customers have chosen you, so you have social proof and leads are easier to convert.

Your local authority

By boosting the reputation signals with content, links and citations so search engines and AI systems are more likely to recommend you.

Your data consistency

We’ll make sure you appear consistently across the internet, so Google, AI systems and users build more confidence in your business.

The person doing the work

Hi! I’m Tommy

I’m a London-based SEO consultant.

I spent 11 years working in software and web development before moving into the world of digital visibility. This means I understand what’s happening underneath a website as well as what customers see on the surface, and I know which changes are likely to create results and which ones are fluff.

I care more about finding the few things likely to create the results you want than producing a 100-page SEO report.

It’s all too easy to fiddle with page titles and image alt tags to feel like we’re being productive.

But SEO changes are only useful when they help your business make money.

I’ll work out what matters, prioritise it, and help get it implemented.

No black box

You shouldn’t be kept out of the loop

Far too many agencies stay silent until their monthly report is due.

  • They fulfil their one blog post per week commitment.
  • They optimise the on-page SEO, the technical SEO, local schema…
  • …and at the start of every month, you get a vague report and an invoice.

I don’t work like that.

This program is a partnership. You’ll have a private Slack channel with me for questions, approvals and quick decisions. You’ll be updated at least weekly on what I’m working on and what happens next.

We’ll also have a monthly call to look at progress, priorities and anything that’s changing inside your business.

You won’t have to wonder…

  • what I’m working on, or why
  • what has changed
  • if I need anything from you
  • whether the work is going somewhere useful

You don’t need to become an SEO expert.

But you should always have a clear idea of where your money is going.

What’s included

What you get

This isn’t a predetermined bundle of “four blog posts, ten backlinks and a monthly report”.

Every business starts somewhere different.

So, every partnership begins with a full diagnosis of your current visibility: where you’re already winning, where you’re losing qualified demand, what competitors have that you don’t, and what’s most likely to make a meaningful difference.

From there, I prioritise and implement the work which your business actually needs.

01

Initial diagnosis and prioritisation

Including competitor checks, so we understand your business’ starting point and can form a tailored plan around maximising your digital visibility.

02

Content strategy

To decide what should exist, what needs to be improved, and what might even be deleted, so your website relevance is laser-focused on the searches that attract qualified traffic.

03

Google Business Profile optimisation

Helping Google understand exactly what searches to rank you for, so you start appearing in the most relevant searches across Google Search for the highest intent leads.

04

Technical and on-page SEO

From site architecture and internal linking to structured information and local schema where they matter, so Google and AI search systems can properly crawl and interpret your website.

05

Local landing pages

Targeting local keywords to rank for the most important queries, so high-intent users can find you and quickly understand why you’re the best solution to their problem.

06

Local authority and link building

Through relevant directories, partnerships and local PR, so you show up at the top of the London-based searches which are going to make you money.

07

Direct access to me

Not an account manager—with a private Slack channel, weekly updates and a monthly strategy call, so you always know what I’m working on and why.

08

Ongoing local SEO strategy

So you can reach the top and stay there against your competition.

Getting started

How it works

Send me your website when you enquire

Tell me a bit about your business, what you offer and what you want to be found for. I’ll take a first look before asking you to commit to anything.

I’ll decide if the partnership is a good fit

If I don’t think I can help you create meaningful results, I’ll tell you and you pay nothing. But if I think I can help, I’ll come back with a few short questions about your business, customers and priorities, along with an invoice.

Confirm the partnership

The first month’s invoice is paid in full before we begin.

I onboard you

We’ll get on a call so we can work out what I need access to, such as Google Search Console, Google Analytics, your CMS, etcetera. We’ll also set up a Slack channel so we can communicate where need be.

Leave it to me

I’ll work through your website, your content and search presence. I’ll be in touch to ask for approval where I need it. We’ll get on a call once per month to discuss progress, but I’ll be in touch at least weekly to give you updates.

The investment

The cost

From £2,500/month

Ongoing local SEO partnership

The exact fee depends on how much hands-on implementation you need from me, but here’s what’s always included:

  • the initial SEO audit and prioritisation
  • ongoing strategy
  • implementation
  • monitoring
  • weekly communication
  • your monthly strategy call

There isn’t a predetermined list of SEO tasks I need to keep going through. We’ll prioritise the work most likely to make a meaningful difference for your business.

The honest answer

How long does Local SEO take in a city like London?

The honest reality? It’s a bit boring, but it depends on your industry.

Some industries are easy to compete in because no one else is doing that good a job. We’ll see results more quickly; perhaps even after 1-2 months.

But for industries where the competition is tougher, especially in a city with as many people/businesses as London, they might have been doing local SEO for a long time. And if you’re starting from far behind, it could take 6 months up to a year or two to see real results.

This does not mean nothing will happen in that time. Climbing the local SEO ladder is a slow process, but it creates incremental results. Even in crowded industries, unless you’re starting from VERY far behind, we should start seeing an improvement in a few months.

This offer is a partnership, not a prison. You can stay as long as I am delivering value. But you are welcome to leave any time.

Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Can we do this without giving you access to…?

I’ll normally need access to Google Search Console and to your analytics data so I can understand what’s happening and measure progress.

As for your CMS, if you’d prefer to keep access only to your team members, I understand. I’ll tell you what changes I need to be made from the outside. I’m not fussed who implements the change—as long as it gets made.

Do you work with London-based eCommerce businesses?

No, I only work with local service businesses.

Do you offer web design or web design advice?

Not technically as part of this partnership.

But I worked in front end engineering for over a decade. I’m happy to lend my experience here to anyone I’m working with.
